I have literally never left a google review in my life. My daughter's last name was entered wrong on her birth certificate and SS card and I was given this number to get it corrected since I cannot get her a new SS card without fixing the birth certificate first. I have spoken to the local vital records, the local SS, the county clerk, the hospital where I gave birth and searched the internet for hours trying to get in contact with this place. They don't pick up the phone at all. I now have to schedule a consultation with a lawyer to draw up an affidavit in hopes of getting this changed so my 6 month old doesn't lose her health insurance. We don't have the means to take a seven hour trip to Nashville, and even if we did we would have to drive there, schedule an appointment in person with them and then return weeks to months later because they don't allow walk ins. I am beyond infuriated and sincerely hope that others are able to somehow get in contact with them because nobody deserves to have to deal with this. This is the same reason that I am not able to get the social security benefits that I was approved for, the office dealing with my case doesn't pick up and since I moved I would have to take a 9 hour trip up there to talk to them. Conveniently enough the local office and the actual administration cannot handle or look at my case, only the office that originally took it on can, or even change my address with them. I am so sick of doing everyone's job for them. It makes me infuriated to pay taxes to a government that can't even pave the roads or let alone hire enough people to pick up the phone

This is the first time I've left a google review in the 25 years I've been on this earth. I paid a lawyer to get an amendment for my daughters birth certificate because they spelled her name wrong on it and said "oh well". So I had to pay almost $3,000 for a lawyer to weite up said amendment. I mailed the amendment to them back in April of 2024. It's now January and I still never got it not have I ever been able to get ahold of anyone there. But don't worry though, they cashed my check and mailed my papers back within 3 weeks, but I still haven't gotten the amended birth certificate.

We have been waiting over two years for my son’s birth certificate. We have called many times and have been assured it’s being sent and still… nothing. They don’t return phone calls or messages.

After reading the reviews I am I surprised? NOT ONE BIT!!!

I have called 4x in the last 30 mins and get nothing but the voicemail. granted I left a message lets see if i get a returned call LOL

Who is running this place? Kindergarteners?

I paid $200 for an expedited birth certificate and i have been waiting since November 5th when i placed the order, 2 weeks later I called vital check to inquire about my order they say "well we emailed you to inform you that the vehicle registration is not a valid form of identification and you should check your spam folder" why would you offer something on the website if it is not a valid form of identification?

I then upload other documents and on 11/15 I get an email stating "your order has been approved and average Tennessee processing is 14-21 business days"

Now here I am 12/2 no birth certificate. I finally call Vital check and they tell me my certificates with arrive January 21st of 2025!

UMMMMM WHAT!

Vital check is now telling me that the state of Tennessee requires 30-45 business days to send birth certificates.... but the website has yet to be updated?!?!?!

I was granted a partial refund but what is that going to do? I still have to wait after moving across the country driving a vehicle with mismatched information to my Drivers License. That subjects me to a ticket for not having valid information showing where I am residing...

This absolutely sickens me.

don't even bother ordering online anything better to probably drive and deal with things in person at this point. absolutely diabolic

Why did I leave 4 stars… well let me start by saying that I mailed in a request for a birth certificate 5 1/2 weeks ago and had not heard anything from the state. I started calling and leaving messages, which were not being returned. I sent an email and it was not answered. I went to their Google listing and read reviews. The reviews left me depressed that I would not receive a birth certificate anytime soon as everyone was reporting that calls, voice messages and emails were falling on deaf ears! I decided I would need to call several times a day and leave messages until someone called me back. I called and left a message this morning and to my surprise I was called back in 30 minutes. I explained my needs to the lady and she said she would check with a manager and call me back. I had read that others had said they received a call and were told they would need to call them back and it never happened. I was concerned l may not get a call back, but 30 minutes later she called me back. She said the issue ( the state had flagged my birth certificate in error ) had been resolved and I could go to the local health department and get a copy of my birth certificate. So I did and all is well. I feel that I was lucky that I got a call from a very nice lady that was good at her job and cared!!! She told me she was helping answer calls because they had so many. I don’t think that the current issues that the state has with responding to request are resolved, but maybe they are working on it. I want to say a big thank you so much to Amanda!!!! I hope you are as lucky as I was and get a call back from her. Thank you Amanda!!!

Guess the problem wasn't resolved in any way and now I'm getting the treatment that so many others get where the communication has fully dropped. No vmails or calls answere.
Thanks guys!

I've been having trouble with some issues but I called today and was able to get a timeline for what I've been needing.
Now I don't feel so lost dealing with all these entities.

My first Google review and I am only doing it to try to help someone avoid what is happening to me. Did an online order for a birth certificate from TN. After being approved, we are now going on 6 weeks with no indication of when we might recieve anything. They took our money but there is no way to request a refund. We ended up driving to TN and picked one up in 5 minutes in person (great in person service). After doing some more research on BBB (barely over 1 star rating), I am learning that people are waiting months with no end in sight. Order online at your own risk but don't be surprised if you are left empty handed unless they drastically change their policies. I would expect some level of professionalism for a company that deals with sensitive information like birth certificates.
