My 82 year old father moved into Heritage Place a year ago after breaking his arm. Heritage Place's staff has done everything possible to ease the transition to assisted living and I am happy to report he successfully recovered from his broken arm!

I toured 8 different assisted living facilities in the San Antonio/Fredericksburg area before settling on Heritage Place as the right one for my father and have no regrets. This was one of the few places I visited that I felt like I could truly trust the staff and facility to look after my father.

The facility is kept clean and bright and many of the residents are often out of their rooms, enjoying activities and the company of other residents. It is a place I enjoy visiting my father and the staff is always receptive to any concerns I may have. I have not sampled the food myself, but I get positive reviews from my father who is not exactly an indiscriminate eater.

Many of the staff members are exceptional, with a special nod to the director, Connie, who is very hands on and sets a great tone for the facility, and Holly, the former head of nursing who actively managed my father through some of the most difficult times in his recovery.

Overall, I do not think you could find a nicer place for your loved one in this area. Thank you to the Heritage Place staff!

My mother has been at Heritage Place for eight years. The staff here is attentive, interactive and fully engaged with mom's daily care. They've been a steady presence through the years. The leadership handled the COVID restrictions with care and clear communications to family members. The staff has always treated my mom as family. The facility is beautiful. The entire staff is attentive, caring, and will insure your loved ones have not only a clean, well maintained, quality place to call home but have fun living life too. He particularly enjoyed when guest musicians came in and played. My family appreciates everything the staff did to make my grandfather comfortable during his last few days. Mom really likes it at Heritage. She has commented that the staff is happy and friendly. I like the environment - the building and furnishings are homey and well kept. The activities and connections with other residents keep mom busy. Heritage has been a blessing! The residents even get to enjoy a weekly Happy Hour!

My father was a resident at Heritage for several years. At one point he wanted to move to the newer, better place in town. We where against it but we moved him. 3 months later he was ready to return to Heritage because he missed the staff (family as he called them), the close knit community and the home feeling of the place. This time we where happy to move him. He stayed at Heritage till the end per his wishes and we where blessed to have them care for our father.

My parents have been residents for about 3 years. They along with the other residents and staff endured the "COVID" lockdown and have now returned to the more normal living experience, as of a few months ago.

While I know the lockdown was difficult on the residents, the staff and the leadership at Heritage, as well as every other facility in the country, everyone and every business was feeling their way through a very difficult time and making difficult choices.

On my last few visits I have observed that the "upbeat and happy feeling" has returned to Heritage Place Fredericksburg. Last week when I visited I was greeted by four different staff members with a hello and a big smile, all within the first 5 minutes of being in the building. It was refreshing. The residents were out and about and mingling with each other and everyone seemed to have a little pep in their step again.

I applaud Connie Eckhardt and her leadership team including Kimberly and Ana plus many more, with their ability to make difficult decisions regarding the safety and security of the residents and staff while at the same time trying to create a since of normalcy.

I want to thank the staff team who take care of my parents. Many of them have had conversations directly with me about my folks' changing situations and needs. It is very comforting to me to actually see the way they care for my mom and dad.

I am so happy that my parents chose Heritage Place as their home. I would highly recommend that you visit them if you ever have the need.
