We stopped to eat here on our way home from Vanderbilt. The service was amazing. My friend ordered the Parmesan crusted halibut and it was amazing. I ordered the prime rib. For the price, I was expecting a tender prime rib bursting with flavor. What I got was a tough and chewy, flavorless piece of meat. I tried adding salt and that didn’t even work and it was so much work to cut into it that I only ate about a third of it. The au gratin potatoes were tasty and good. The salad was the best part of my prime rib meal. Their honey mustard dressing was amazing and the greens were fresh and crispy. We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert. It was a large portion and it was good, but not great. A vanilla bean ice cream would have paired much better with it. Over all, I would dine here again, however I would likely opt for a salad. For the two of us to eat, it was $157.

Very unpleasant service. Anytime my friends and I asked for something, felt like we were bothering the waitress. Waited almost 30 min for our server. Never brought us bread . Waited another 30 min for drinks. When we finally got our food, it was cold, and just not good. Sent it back. Next entree, same thing. I gave up at that point. Very disappointing , especially since we were celebrating a birthday. If you’re wanting to spend money at a nice restaurant, do not go here. One of the worst steakhouses I’ve ever been to.

This cozy mid-level charmer is a great place to retreat to recharge without spending a fortune! While we love this restaurant for the above reasons the Stoney River in Franklin is worth the extra drive all things considered. I didn’t know but came to realize that J Alexander’s and Stoney River are now owned by the same corporation. One of our favorite things about this restaurant is that the menu and drink menu are both solid! The dessert’s are made in house daily from scratch! They have a very cool bar with a great social scene and a great happy hour. The items we love the most at this particular restaurant are the shrimp cocktail, crab cake appetizer and the sea bass! Nice servers who have been here for a while and professional kitchen staff and management!

I had high expectations for this place. A group of us went here for a birthday dinner. We drove 30 minutes from Hendersonville. Service was so slow, not a very attentive person. She was nice though. Food was not cooked as ordered. Two of the six plates were sent back. There are far better steakhouses closer to us. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Travis was the best server. He gave the best service and recommendations. Made sure we were having a good time, super nice, and was always timely on refills. The food was amazing and came out fast. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time.

Staff was friendly, good environment. I would eat here again, I would just try and be super clear on how you want steaks cooked. Maybe it was a bad visit but out of our group one person got their steak cooked the way they ordered it. I said rare and got well done. I did not give them the chance to fix it because I never send food back.

What a great way to end a weeknight. This was my first time visiting Stoney River a d it was for a .medical rep dinner. The Hosts, as you walk in, were very kind and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing and beautiful in design.
The servers were kind and helpful in suggestions. They were also respectful in doing their job during the time we were listening to the speaker.
The food was great. I am not a steak person, so I would normally have ordered the salmon, but the waitress suggested the Filet Mignon. It was a great choice. Tender and flavorful! I will definitely come back.
